Day 5 - Blue Ridge Parkway

The weather was almost perfect this morning, The only things that could have been better was a bit warmer and a bit lower winds. It was 52 when we left Halifax PA. I was running my mesh jacket with mt Freeze-Out liner.=m but it just wasn't quite enough. That may be because I was running a light fever - didn't sleep very well last night with alternating sweats and chills. However we were restless so set out at 7:25 AM.

Corn Fields from I-81 near Carlisle PA

We rode down I-81 for a couple hundred miles to just outside of Staunton VA, then took VA 250 through Waynesboro VA where we pitted for fuel and lunch. After that brief break, it was a short jaunt up to one of the many entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We got a requisite photo do document that start and then ran the 199 mile stretch all the way down to Fancy Gap. We made a pit stop or two and another photo op at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center.
